Comedian Marc Maron is bringin more “Maron” to IFC. The network announced that “Maron” is getting a third season and production begins this Fall.

Season 3 will be 13 brand new half-hour episodes where Marc Maron plays a fictionalized version of himself working on his WTF podcast, confronting new issues and continuing to be his own worst enemy.

IFC President Jennifer Caserta talked about the new season and the network having a healthy connection with Maron, which is rare in his life. “Usually Marc has a hard time maintaining long-term relationships, but luckily not with us. He’s committed to bringing his wry humor and refreshing perspective back to IFC for a third season.”

As for Marc Maron, he’s delighted about a new season on IFC. “I am very proud of both seasons of the show and thrilled we’re doing another one. Through all the episodes I can see the growth and evolution of the character, writing and comedy. I’m excited about getting back into the process. The character of Maron needs some work on and off screen and fortunately that’s what drives the show.” Maron is also the creator, writer and executive producer of the show.

Look for Season 3 of “Maron” coming to IFC in Spring, 2015.
