Marlon Wayans’ Pryor Audition Footage
Before Mike Epps was cast in the role of legendary comedian Richard Pryor, the role was highly sought after by a number of actors, including Marlon Wayans.
The audition that Marlon Wayans is doing here is for a previous biopic project about Richard Pryor which was set to be directed by Bill Condon. Wayans was said to have gotten the part but the film fell through after a dispute with Pryor’s family. Throughout the years, even before Richard Pryor passed away in 2005, several names were rumored to be attached to one project or another to possibly play the iconic comedian including Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, Michael B. Jordan, Marlon Wayans, Nick Cannon and Marlon Wayans’ brother Damon. Marlon was also in the running to play Pryor in the Lee Daniels’ film.
Wayan’s audition tape for the role has been released on Vimeo featuring a scene with Omar Epps. One way or another, this movie is going to have some Epps in it.
