Maria Bamford Files Restraining Order Against Donald Trump
TMZ is reporting that comedian Maria Bamford has sued President Donald Trump. The comedian is seeking a restraining order to prevent Donald Trump from coming within 1000 yards of her.
In her filing documents, she said his incendiary comments about North Korea and Russia have caused her anxiety and depression- specifically his comment that “I too have a nuclear button and my button works.” She also references his remarks about Hilary Clinton.
She tweeted out the process of filing her request in court.
Bamford kicks off a national stand up tour tomorrow and she’ll be appearing this weekend at the Moontower Comedy Festival in Austin Texas. One of the shows she’ll be performing on while at Moontower is a show called “An Evening for the Comedy Resistence” starring David Cross, Maria Bamford, Ted Leo, Judah Friedlander, SNL writer Julio Torres, Janelle James, and more. The Comedy Resistance is an organization founded by comedians and political professionals, dedicated to using live national comedy events and funny online content to get people engaged and excited to participate in our democracy—and VOTE.
Ok! Going to local courthouse to file restraining order against Donald Trump. I'll let you know what happens. It may just be rejected after a long wait in line. #illbringtheinternet

I printed out all of his public threats of violence – mostly the nuclear tweet and interview responses re: his interest in nuclear war https://t.co/bTp47qHwfW
