I met hector comacho in AC some 15+ years ago at the Taj Mahal the weekend he fought Roberto Duran and they both were cool as shit. It’s too bad he has to get shot over such a dumb situation

Really sad news.  In the past year, boxing has lost Smokin’ Joe Frazier, Angelo Dundee, Carmen Basilio, Michael Dokes, Emanuel Steward, Teofilio Stevenson, Burt Sugar, Don Fullmer, Goody Petronelli…

And that’s just off of the top of my head.

Camacho turned a lot of fans off with his flashiness, but he was an incredibly smart and talented counter puncher, and had a lot of power in the lightweight division.   I went from hating him to loving him back in the 80’s and early 90’s.

@RFGvac Yet, the saddest news in boxing again this year is that Don King is still alive.

Are they sure it wasn’t a drive by stabbing?

Edwin Rosario shot him 42 seconds into the 5th round at MSG years ago; he’s been running ever since, and was finally caught up to tonight.

I’m so conflicted.  The Puerto Rican in me is hoping he pulls out of this and becomes some sort of inspirational super story that puts him back in the lime light.

The rest of me realizes that I have him in his celebrity death pool, and have the chance and fast money, WITHOUT having to stab someone!
