Louie Anderson Responds to Conan’s Question About How He Plays Mrs. Baskets
Louie Anderson got gigantic laughs appearing on Conan Monday night. He had such a great appearance he scored three clips on Conan’s YouTube page.
Louie showed off his jokewriting skills, sharing a joke that he’s been working on for ten years now, including the updated punchline, and he talked about Baskets, his FX show. Conan complimented Louie Anderson’s portrayal of Zach Galifianakis’ mom on the show, saying he “cracked the atom” by choosing to play cross genders without changing his own voice. “I think what’s really stunning, you really make no effort to act like a woman,” Conan said. Louie replied, deadpan, perfectly, “No.”
On a more personal note, Louie discussed his latest Amazon purchases, making some commentary along the way like, “stop putting x’s on clothing!”, showed off his his latest purchase, and compared notes with Conan about being tall. Watch the clips below.
