Legion of Skanks Podcast Leaving The Anthony Cumia Network
Popular comedy podcast Legion of Skanks announced Monday via Twitter that they will be leaving The Anthony Cumia Network (recently renamed Compound Media) for good after May 31st.
The news comes on the heels of months of speculation from fans and heavy-handed hints from the show’s hosts that the show might be looking to make a home elsewhere. The podcast, hosted by comedians Big Jay Oakerson, Luis J. Gomez (a.k.a. The Puerto Rican Rattlesnake) and Dave Smith (a.k.a. The Libertarian,) has been on the network, which also plays host to shows like Finer Things with Mike Finoia and The Gavin McInnes Show, since June of last year.
Starting in June we will be moving over to @gasdigital Network! Very excited about the future of the show! More details coming soon.

As they approached the one year mark and their 100th episode with TACN, the hosts of the show hinted at tensions with Cumia’s staff and crumbling negotiations over pay and contracts that seemed to indicate the show wouldn’t be returning to the network. Mentions of the issue by the hosts on their individual podcasts all but confirmed the theory to fans.
Last month, when the joint Luis J. Gomez/Ralph Sutton podcast network GaS Digital was launched, the Skanks’ return to TACN seemed even less likely. Fans over on the show’s subreddit had been speculating about the move for months, and today’s announcement finally put those rumors to rest.
Sad to announce @LegionOfSkanks leaving CompoundMedia for @gasdigital June 1st. We wish @bigjayoakerson @luisjgomez @ComicDaveSmith the best

Legion of Skanks will join a few other shows over at GaS Digital, including recently-added High Society Radio (featuring Ron and Fez and Bennington producer Chris Stanley and former intern Bronx Johnny,) the Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll show, The Real Ass Podcast, and Part of the Problem, along with a list of new shows that are being added to the network as it rapidly begins to expand.
The Legion of Skanks Twitter account made mention of the fact that the eight most recent episodes of their shows will always be free to listen to via iTunes, regardless of what content is behind a paywall over at GaS Digital, and that the show will be bringing its entire archive of TACN shows with them during the move.
The Legion of Skanks crew will also be throwing their first ever comedy festival, Skankfest, this June 18th and 19th. The event will take place at Long Island City’s Creek and the Cave, where the Skanks have recorded many an episode of LoS.
The newly renamed Compound Media network may be losing the Skanks, but they announced a new show will be coming to the network. Beginning in June, Geno Bisconte and Aaron Berg bring a new show, In Hot Water to the platform.
