Who’s on Late Night Tonight in Comedy?

Well now that all the non-stop campaign coverage and 24 hour a day election hype is over and France has a new Prime Minister, maybe our lives can get back to normal. Oh wait, I forgot who our leader is. Never mind feeling normal, let’s see what’s going on in late night comedy this week.

On Tuesday, Stephen Colbert is celebrating 20 years of working in late night television (that seems fast) with a big reunion show. Colbert began appearing as a Daily Show correspondent in 1997 and on Tuesday his guest list includes people who were a part of the Daily Show with him and some who still continue to influence late night TV. His guests include Jon Stewart, Samantha Bee, John Oliver, Ed Helms and Rob Corddry. That’s just part of a Tuesday night that is packed with comedy guests all across the late night shows. Wednesday in late night offers another reunion. Tina Fey who worked the Weekend Update desk on SNL is reunited with her co-anchor Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show.

Thursday, Mark Normand, who has appeared on the Late Show and on Conan several times, achieves another huge late night milestone by performing on the Tonight Show. As a bonus for Mark, Michelle Pfeiffer is also a Tonight Show guest that night, so there’s probably a good chance for some Green Room small talk.

Also on Thursday, Conan O’Brien stretches his borders once again by bringing the pride of Armenian comedy to America. His guests will be Narek Margaryan & Sergey Sargsyan, who started ArmComedy which began as a satirical comedy website in their country and took the country by storm and is now a television series which airs 3 times a week in Armenia. The week finishes up with things hopefully getting “Spicy” on a new Saturday Night Live hosted by Melissa McCarthy.
