The Late Late Show Celebrates Tom Cruise’s Career in Just 8 Minutes

Tom Cruise was not only a guest on the Late Late Show with James Corden, but he was the perfect candidate for James Corden’s career retrospective segment, Role Call. The bit celebrated the many, many films of Tom Cruise’s career, well not all of them, but it was an ambitious 24 movies in just over 8 minutes. Tom admitted that he wasn’t ready for Late Late Show Role Call, but was willing to try it anyway.

Tom Cruise and James Corden went through 24 of Tom Cruise’s movies, but 5 of them were Mission Impossible films, so that may have made the segment which required rapid-fire costume changing precision, a little bit easier to pull off. The team of Cruise and Corden acted out scenes from Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Rain Man, Tropic Thunder, War of the Worlds (featuring James Corden as Dakota Fanning), Minority Report, Mission Impossibles 1 through 5, Jerry Maguire, Born on the Fourth of July, Rock of Ages, Interview with a Vampire, Eyes Wide Shut, A Few Good Men, Cocktail (Tom Cruise still has some decent showtending skills), The Last Samurai, Vanilla Sky, Jack Reacher (which includes a plug for Cruise’s new film “Jack Reacher: Never Go Back), Edge of Tomorrow and the movie which was obviously an audience favorite, Risky Business. The final film in the Role Call could spawn a brand new Late Late Show segment, Living Room Karaoke.

Late Late Show Role Call with Tom Cruise is definitely worth the 8 minute watch time, especially since it includes a special guest. One of Tom Cruise’s co-stars shows up in the middle of a scene to reprise his role. You can watch the clip below, but here’s a hint before you do- think Academy Award winner.

Tom Cruise’s new action flick, “Jack Reacher Never Go Back” opens nationwide in theaters this Friday.
