Larry David And Charlie Rose Argue Over Who Is Larry David on 60 Minutes

In promotion for the Broadway debut of his new play, “Fish in the Dark”, Larry David sat down with Charlie Rose for a 60 Minutes interview. The conversation focused on who is the real Larry David? Is he the jerk that was channeled into the character of George Constanza on “Seinfeld”? Is he the anti-social trainwreck that you see on “Curb Your Enthusiasm”? Or he something totally different, a kind and caring man who just plays extremely flawed characters on TV?

In these outtake extras from the interview found on CBSNews.com, Larry and Charlie go back and forth over who Larry David really is as a person. While Larry insists that the “Curb” Larry is the real deal, Charlie Rose refuses to believe him. It’s this kind of self-reflection that turned Larry David off of psycho therapy.  He explains what a waste of time it was for him and how it can make a person become even more self-obsessed and feeling worse about themselves. Larry feels the key to feeling better about yourself comes down to a couple of simple things.

Charlie Rose also brought up something that most people talk about concerning Larry David, but that he’s never addressed before. And that’s his money and how much he’s worth from being the co-creator of “Seinfeld”. Larry tries to dispel what he calls some extreme exaggerations about his wealth. This is also the most that Larry David has talked about his divorce in the media. But when it comes to money, again, Charlie Rose isn’t buying what Larry David is saying.

Larry David’s “Fish in the Dark” opens on Broadway this Thursday, March 5th at the Cort Theatre. For tickets and more information, go to FishInTheDark.com
