Kyle Mooney’s Unusual Film, Brigsby Bear Releases First Clip

Described as an unorthodox adventure, starring Saturday Night Live‘s Kyle Mooney and Star Wars‘ Mark Hamill, about a children’s TV show produced for an audience of one, Brigsby Bear has released its first clip. Mooney plays James, a boy who is the sole audience member for his favorite show. When the show suddenly ends (for reasons that we’re told are ‘unforgettable’), James sets out on a bizarre adventure to finish the story himself.

If the title sounds familiar, it’s because our own Jeffrey Gurian just talked about seeing a screening of the movie in his Monday morning column. Gurian he said it was so unusual he didn’t want to attempt to describe it. He says the movie is amazing and calls Mooney a force to be reckoned with.

Mooney co-wrote Brigsby Bear with Kevin Costello; the movie also stars SNL buddy Beck Bennett, as well as Claire Danes, Greg Kinnear, and Matt Walsh.

In select theaters, July 28th!
