Kevin Hart Extortion Situation Remains Front Page News
Saturday afternoon, Kevin Hart went viral on Instagram with an apology. Since then, four million people watched Kevin Hart talk about making mistakes and hurting the people closest to him- his wife and his kids. In the apology, he alluded to an extortion scenario, saying that he would rather own up to his mistakes rather than allow a person to have financial gain off of his mistakes. “And in this particular situation, that was what was attempted.” The message alludes to cheating allegations which surfaced back in July when Hart was trending on Twitter after a video surfaced that looked a little cheaty.
The normally very active social media account has been quiet since then, but TMZ, E! and other celebrity sites have revealed more details from Hart’s representatives about the situation including a confirmation that someone attempted to extort Hart for money. Hart’s first wife gave an interview to Inside Edition about their marriage which, she says ended after she caught Hart lying and cheating.
“Someone tried to set Kevin up in a failed extortion attempt,” his rep shared. “As law enforcement is involved, we cannot comment further as it could affect the investigation.”
Monday morning TMZ released a video created by the woman who tried to extort Hart. You can watch that video at TMZ.com. The nearly five minute video has voice overs, photo and video. There’s also a snippet of an alleged sex tape.
