Jumping Around Montreal Just For Laughs with Jeffrey Gurian Sunday Edition

jeffreygurianjflThings were winding down for my last day in Montreal for the Just for Laughs Festival 2014. The afternoon was quiet, but I did have chance to talk with some of the guys from NBC’s Undateable. I hadn’t been able to hook up an interview before, and they were actually waiting for the shuttle to take them to the airport so I grabbed the opportunity. And there was Brent Morin, and Rick Glassman, and so we did a six second Vine video in the Lobby which was really funny. And in six seconds, all I had time to say was I’m with Rick Glassman and I want to be on Undateable, but that’s my big Vine debut.

In evening I first went to the Jim Gaffigan Gala. The special thing about that was, Jim Gaffigan has five children, and they opened the show for him and it was amazing! His daughter Marre came out, which is Jim’s moms name. She’s ten years old, and she came out and said “people tell me I got my looks from my mom.” She came out with Jack who is eight, who looked at the audience and said, “I’m single.” Then there’s Katie who’s five, Michael who is three, and little Patrick who is almost 2. The boys were all wearing tuxedos and the girls in dressed and they sang a parody song “G-A-F-F-I-G-A-N” to the tune of “Harrigan.” The littlest one, Patrick, didn’t want to go on stage, he just wanted to go to bed, so his mother told him he could only go to bed if he gave the microphone to his sister so that’s how they got him to go on stage. Also on that Gala, was Judy Gold, Monroe Martin and John Heffron who won Season Two of Last Comic Standing.

And then on the Russell Peters Gala, my last show in Montreal. It was pretty amazing. My friend Russell Peters of course, and George Wallace, Erin Foley, Godfrey, and Robert Kelly were all a part of it, and it was maybe one of the best shows of the entire festival. I can only describe it as really powerful. Afterwards, we were saying goodnight and Russell invited us to join them back at the Hyatt Bar. It was only comedians because the festival was really winding down, but I had a great time with Russell, Bobby Kelly, Jim Gaffigan, Judy Gold, and George Wallace.

And that was it, that’s the wrap up. Tomorrow we fly home. It’s been a busy couple of days. I’m still jumping around, but I’m spent.
