Mighty Boosh Star Comes to Seeso In New Scripted Series

Julian Barratt and Olivia Colman in 'Flowers'

Seeso has released the trailer for its intriguing upcoming dark comedy series Flowers, which premieres May 5.

Starring Olivia Colman (Broadchurch) and Julian Barratt who you know from The Mighty Boosh, Flowers is the story of an eccentric family consisting of Maurice (Barratt), a suicidal author of illustrated children’s books; his music teacher wife, Deborah (Colman); their fraternal twin children Amy (Sophia diMartino) and Donald (Daniel Rigby); and Maurice’s Japanese illustrator Shun (played by writer and director Will Sharpe).

Georgina Campbell (as neighbor Abigail, the object of affection of both twins) and Leila Hoffman, who played Augusta Longbottom in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, round out the ensemble cast

Based on the trailer, Flowers has the feel of a Wes Anderson/Edgar Wright hybrid (Colman played PC Doris Thatcher n Wright’s Hot Fuzz), with gallows humor, eccentric characters, and lushly poetic settings.

The entire six-episode series will be available to Seeso subscribers on May 5. Watch the trailer now.
