Jon Stewart Nurses Sick Pony Back To Health
Jon Stewart loves animals. In April he made headlines for rescuing a runaway bull that had escaped while en route to the slaughterhouse. Now he’s back in the news because he nursed a sick pony back to health, according to an article in Lancaster Online.
The comedian and his wife run an animal sanctuary on a farm in New Jersey where they rescue sick and injured animals of all sorts. Working with the Omega Horse Rescue Rehabilitation Center, the Stewarts adopted Lily the pony, who was found abandoned, half blind, starving and covered in over 150 paintball marks in March.
Kelly Smith from he Center posted a statement on her Facebook page stating “Lily along with our beloved Anita, are being adopted by the comedian Jon Stewart and his wife Tracey.There are no words to describe how this feels.”
