It’s a spin-off of a musical game played by celebrities on a late night comedy/variety/talk show. Huh? What? Really? Why?

Jimmy Fallon’s Lip Sync Battle seen on the Tonight Show will debut as its own show on Spike TV on Thursday, April 2nd. The celebrity lip sync competition show will be hosted by LL Cool J with Chrissy Teigen on board as color commentator. There’s no prizes, just bragging rights as celebrities try to “out-sync and out-psych” each other by lip syncing to the songs of their choice. The lip syncing is only half the battle. The stars will also try to get in each other’s heads by adding outrageous performance choices to their appearances.

Spike has announced that “Lip Sync Battle” has added 8 more episodes to the series in addition to the original ten, and the show hasn’t even premiered yet. The first set of shows were taped in New York City with the second 8 shows being done this month in Los Angeles. Stars competing against each other in the inaugural season include, Jimmy Fallon, Dwayne Johnson, Anna Kendrick, Jennifer Lopez, John Legend, John Krasinski, Meghan Trainor, Common, Emily Blunt, Anne Hathaway, Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, Justin Bieber, Queen Latifah, Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Mike Tyson, Terry Crews and more to be announced.

“Lip Sync Battle” created by Jimmy Fallon, premieres Thursday, April 2nd at 10pm et on Spike TV.
