Jim Gaffigan Gets Another Starring Role to Add to His Growing Resume

Jim Gaffigan is already a giant in the stand up comedy world, and he’s about to break through to yet another level of success. Variety reported on Monday that Gaffigan will star in the comedy movie, “You Can Choose Your Family” which is being produced by Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, Karen Kehela Sherwood and Amanda Marshall.  Jim will play Frank, a dad who seems normal, but actually has a secret– a second family.

When Jim and his wife Jeannie Gaffigan decided to fold up their tent on the outstanding series The Jim Gaffigan Show (that aired on TV Land for two seasons) we were disappointed because it was one of our favorite comedy series, beloved by everyone at The Interrobang.

But now we can see why- Gaffigan’s already gigantic career is on an upward trajectory, and he simply doesn’t have the time to be a jack of all hats on his own Gaffigan written-produced-starring series. Since leaving TJGS behind, Jim has released his fifth hour special, embarked on an international tour, been cast as a Season Three lead in the white-hot FX series Fargo, he’s become a spokesman for Chrysler as the dad next door, and we’ll be seeing or hearing him in six movies this year including Chappaquiddick, Drunk Parents, The Bleeder, Guardian Brothers, and Duck Duck Goose.

Even before leaving TV Land, Gaffigan’s star has been high and rising. In addition to his family friendly stand-up career, he’s also appeared as the KFC Colonel, written a few books, performed for the Pope, and built a formidable social media following who watch him and his wife and 5 kids travel the world.

Watch out Kevin Hart and Amy Schumer, Gaffigan could be the next comedian to break out as an American mega-celebrity.
