Jeffrey Gurian Jumps Around Just For Laughs Part 4: Guys We F****d, Seth Rogen, and More Kroll
Jeffrey Gurian is a writer and comedian in New York who loves to Jump Around. This week Jeffrey headed north and covered the scene at Just for Laughs in Montreal!
After three days of going to bed at 4am I was so beat this morning I couldn’t even get out of bed. I barely made it to the Unmasked with Andy Kindler– and that was at 3:00! It was very cool, packed room, Andy was self deprecating and funny as usual. From there I went to the Guys We Fucked podcast. Those girls are very special to me because Corinne (Fisher) was my social media assistant for a year and we are very close as I am with Krystyna Hutchinson. So that was cool. Big Jay Oakerson was their guest and told every aspect of his sex life with Christine, his girlfriend, who was in the room. And who seemed to handle it very well. It was a thing about threesomes and they’re just very open about everything they do which is admirable and very cool. Afterwards we went into the green room together and said they couldn’t wait to shoot a Comedy Matters TV video. I asked them if there was anything they would not say and the answer is no. The only thing they would not do was make fun of guys’ penis size. We talked about empowerment and how their podcast helps women.
Then I had just enough time to grab a bite before running over to the Seth Rogen Red Carpet for Sausage Party. The Red Carpet was very small and it was packed with press. It was so crowded that there was really no room to stand, but I was able to speak to Seth. His first question to me was did you see Nick Kroll? So I showed him my jacket. He said he had just seen Oh Hello in L.A. and thought it was fantastic so I told him I’m the head of security and if he comes to see it in NY, he’ll have to get through me.
Seth played the lead sausage in the R-Rated animated film about food that finds out what happens to them when they leave the supermarket. They got me a ticket and I stayed for the film and it was great. Nick Kroll had a huge role. He literally played a douche that fell off a shelf in the supermarket. I had just hung out with Nick for a few days so I didn’t interview him, but I did get a cool interview with Seth and pictures. On the red carpet with Seth Rogen, as I was about to congratulate the two writers of the film, they came over to me to tell me they enjoyed me in Oh Hello the night before. One of the writers of Sausage Party’s name is Ariel Shaffir!
And by the time I left there I was so exhausted so I went to a nice restaurant, had a good dinner. And then saw the SiriusXM people outside of Club Cleopatra, and then went up to catch some of Ari Shaffir’s This is Not Happening.
It’s 2am, I’m packing , I’m exhausted and I’m OUT!!!!
