This week Jeffrey headed north and covered the scene at Just for Laughs in Montreal!

Most of my day yesterday revolved around getting ready for the Red Carpet for the Just for Laughs Awards Show. I got to talk to everybody. J.B. Smoove was the host and we got to talk about his wardrobe. and how many suitcases he brings with him on his vacation. He has 30 pocket squares with him, an array of suits which he might decide to wear. And one of the cool things is we have the same white suede shoes. He is a man of style and grace! He travels with several suitcases.

Andy Dick was there and told me he almost didn’t get into Canada because of his legal history. We talked about his son who has been a stand up comic for awhile, but now has decided not to follow through with comedy- he wants to become a director. I believe his name is Lucas- Lucas Dick. Andy was quite subdued and was very happy to be there. He was presenting an award to Judd Apatow. Judd told me he chose Andy personally. Sebastian Maniscalco got his award from Pete Correale who did a tribute to me in our interview. He said that he was so happy that I survived my heart attack cause so many comics would have lost money who were on the road who would have had to come to my funeral. Jackie Kashian gave the award to Maria Bamford and I had seen their show the night before and it was amazing. I told Maria that what she’s doing isn’t just funny- its performance art how she lets her inner child come out. She’s so free.

Judd Apatow said that he went with another famous comedian to see Maria Bamford and said that she teaches other comedians what stand up comedy could be. An amazing compliment coming from Judd.

Gilbert Rozon, who is the President and the Founder of Just For Laughs ran over to me in the street, and was filming me as I was filming the festival.  I was standing with Ron Bennington at the time.

Nick Kroll presented the award to Aziz Ansari for Comedy Person of the Year and he and John Mulaney came down the red carpet together.  And as I got ready to interview them they ran over, took my mic out of my hand and started to interview me, which is hilarious. I can’t wait for everyone to see the videos I have.  Aziz was wearing a great suit- the kind of suit that I would love and that J.B. Smoove would admire, and we got to talk about clothes and how people dress on stage.

I had to be at the Gesu Theater that night at 8:30 to be a part of the Oh Hello show.  Nick Kroll and John Mulaney decided to do a Facebook Live taping. So I wore my jacket- I was the head of security- and barred anyone from coming into my dressing room, and then they did a 20 minute video doing karate moves with Nick and John and they’re coming to Broadway on September 23rd. They had me come on stage and present Judd Apatow with the big tuna sandwich.  He was the prank-ee that night and they were so excited to have Judd Apatow.  It was a really big get for them they said.  And they allowed me to film it! Video coming soon!

Afterwards we all hung out backstage. Nick and John take off their makeup right away cause I guess its very uncomfortable for them.  And Mike Berkowitz from APA was there, and Dave Becky from Three Arts and all the heavywaits connected to Nick and John.  It was just so fun.  An amazing night.  We went to Roast Battle which was incredible and the judges were Seth Rogen, Jimmy Kimmel and Jeff Ross.  There’s a VIP room on the second floor where you can watch it on big tv’s and they arranged a chair for me., which was nice. After that we went to the Funny or Die party and we stayed there till four in the morning.  As I walked in I ran into Anthony Jeselnik who was there with his brother Mike and Matt Braunger, and as we went around we ran into Brian Volk Weiss from Comedy Dynamics, and people from Netflix were there, and just every comedian in the world that you could think of. Ben Gleib, Finesse Mitchell who asked to borrow my pen hoping I would pull out my really big pen.  But I was wearing my Gurian’s Angel’s jacket and there was very little room
