Jason Stuart Brings “I’m Only Gay on Weekends” to Palm Springs!

An outrageous and openly gay comedian, Jason Stuart is known for serving-up brutal honesty with humor in a world that’s not always kind. In his new show, “I’m Only Gay on the Weekends,” Stuart takes audiences on a hilarious journey with his latest realization, “I’m just too busy to be gay all week…and the up-keep is just too much!” He appears at The Purple Room in Palm Springs, CA on Saturday, October 10 at 7 pm. Tickets are $25 and available at http://jasonstuart.bpt.me.
Stuart has been making people across the country laugh out loud for over 20 years. With a “Don Rickles” comedic style, this crowd-pleaser transcends the boundaries of race, gender and sexual orientation, sharing his experiences as a single, Jewish gay man living in Hollywood. He has performed at hundreds of comedy clubs, LGBT events, the Montreal Comedy Festival, Broadway and to 100,000 people at the Millennium March in D.C.
Stuart gained legions of fans for his one-hour comedy special “Making it to the Middle” and his CD “Gay Comedy With Out A Dress,” in addition to performing on “One Night Stand Up,” “Wisecrack” and “Comics Unleashed.” This loud and proud stand-up comedian also recently released his new comedy CD “I’m The Daddy and I Have Candy,” heralded as “lightning quick and very funny” by www.theseriouscomedysite.com
Audiences will recognize Stuart as an actor with over 175 films and television credits on his resume. He just wrapped a major supporting role as plantation owner Joseph Randall in the Nat Turner bio-pic “THE BIRTH OF A NATION,” starring Nate Parker and Armie Hammer. This role will be a game changer for the out actor. He also appears in filmmaker Sean Baker’s Sundance Festival hit, “TANGERINE,” produced by the Duplass Brothers, which gained notoriety for being shot entirely on an iPhone. Other recent credits include the Outfest hit “Baby Steps;” “Holy Land,” written & produced by James Franco; the cop drama “Dirty” starring Roger Guenveur Smith and the thriller “The Guest House.” His previous television appearances include “Sleepy Hollow,” “The Secret Life of the American Teenager,” “Entourage,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and more.
Stuart’s work transcends from entertainment to real-life as an advocate and mentor. He is the National Co-Chair of the SAG-AFTRA LGBT Committee and a youth mentor through the Lifeworks Mentoring Program. Last month, Stuart was honored with the Jose Julio Sarria International Civil Rights Award, presented by the International Imperial Court System.
Appearing with Stuart will be Palm Springs-based comedian, Shann Carr. With 26 years of exclusively gay standup experience at her hip, Carr weaves a storytelling style that makes you feel like you’re sitting in your living room with an eccentric friend. She is the executive producer of The Moxie Studios and has published a comedy book called “You’re Going to Be Gay!” Carr lives in Palm Springs with her dogs Boris and Beckham.
