“The Interview” Now Available To Watch Online!

Sony Pictures has released the Seth Rogen – James Franco comedy, “The Interview” online. The comedy that had its nationwide theatrical release cancelled is now available on YouTube Movies, Google Play, Microsoft’s Xbox Video.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Sony has also created a dedicated site for movie’s release at SeeTheInterview.com. “The Interview” went online at 1 pm et on Wednesday. It’s available for $5.99 and purchased in HD for $14.99.

Sony Pictures chief Michael Lynton declared victory for the film after its release was threatened with “September 11th” type attacks from hackers who compromised the studio’s email system. Sony originally scrapped the film’s Christmas Day release after theater chains pulled out of screenings in response to the threats.

Lynton said, “I want to thank Google and Microsoft for helping make this a reality. This release represents our commitment to our filmmakers and free speech. While we couldn’t have predicted the road this movie traveled to get to this moment, I’m proud our fight was not for nothing and that cyber criminals were not able to silence us.”
