An Injured Colin Quinn Visits The Late Show

It takes a brave man to plug his new Netflix special on a late night talk show when he can’t even walk across the stage. A hobbled Colin Quinn was a guest on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Friday despite nursing an injured ankle.

Gone was the thrill of a late night host announcing your name while he rises to greet you as you triumphantly walk across his stage, waving to the adoring audience, as you make your way to guest chair. It was different on Friday. When Colbert came back from a break, he introduced an already seated Colin Quinn to audience. This is the type of treatment usually reserved only for Don Rickles in late night. It turns out that Colin had “popped” his Achilles tendon on the set of an Adam Sandler movie while playing some downtime basketball. Fortunately for Sandler, who’s a billionaire according to Colin, “it’s too late to sue”. He had already checked into it. And also, he’s just “too nice a guy” to actually bring legal action.

Becoming more and more of a historian, Colin Quinn, who’s really comedy’s answer to Doris Kearns Goodwin, gave his thoughts on the recent Presidential election. Of course, like most everyone, he was shocked by the outcome. He really thought Gary Johnson had the election won saying, “We all did”. He also talked about Trump’s “bad boy in school” posture he assumed when visiting President Obama in the White House. His biggest complaint about the President-Elect though, is his possible cabinet choices and the real lack of Trump loyalists getting paid back for their support. What? Nothing for Scott Baio?

Colin Quinn also talked about his new special on Netflix, “Colin Quinn: The New York Story” which was filmed during his off-Broadway run of the show. Plus, we learned some personal history about Colin when he discussed the ballsy move he made when he got a one-line part in “Crocodile Dundee II”. And you can discover the sexy photo Colin keeps of himself in his phone, just in case you hadn’t already discovered it on his Twitter page.

“Colin Quinn: The New York Story” is available for streaming now on Netflix.
