IFC Releases Trailers for Epic New Miniseries “The Spoils Before Dying” and “Documentary Now” Mockumentary Series

We have written about IFC’s upcoming miniseries, The Spoils Before Dying. The six-part show has a loaded cast, led by Michael Kenneth Williams, Will Ferrell, Kristin Wiig, with Tim Meadows, Chris Parnell, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon and more. IFC just released the trailer, less than a month ahead of the July 8 premiere. From the looks of it, The Spoils Before Dying could be the comedy event of the summer. Or at least one of them.

The Spoils Before Dying begins airing July 8th at 9pm.

Also released today, IFC’s trailer gives us our first look at Documentary Now! a new comedy that parodies the world’s greatest documentaries. It’s being billed as a ‘slightly off’ look at history and comes from Fred Armisen, Bill Hader and Seth Meyers, and stars Armisen and Hader. This first look features snapshots of a California-dreaming 70’s rock band, a wealthy mother-daughter duo turned recluse and a behind-the-scenes look at the world’s very first “docu-drama.”

Documentary Now! premieres with the first of six half-hour episodes on Thursday, August 20 at 10:00pm ET/PT on IFC.
