Amy Schumer Joins Vanessa Bayer, Phoebe Robinson and Gillian Jacobs on Ibiza Red Carpet

Netflix’s Ibiza Premiere at AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 on May 21, 2018 in New York City.

Monday night the stars of Ibiza came out on New York City’s Upper West Side for the world premiere of the romantic comedy movie Ibiza. The movie’s stars, Gillian Jacobs, Vanessa Bayer, Phoebe Robinson and Richard Madden, director Alex Richanbach, EP and writer Lauryn Kahn and more graced the red carpet- and we also spotted Amy Schumer, Ilana Glazer and others hanging out to check out the new movie.

In the movie, two friends (Robinson, Bayer) tag along with their buddy Harper (Jacobs) on her work trip to Barcelona, and the three ladies ditch work to fly to Ibiza, where Harper falls for a hot DJ (Madden).

Jacobs gushed about her comedy co-stars, calling them not only really funny, but says Robinson and Bayer made the crazy adventure in the film feel like a real adventure among friends. She called Phoebe Robinson one of the most naturally hilarious people she’s ever met, and called Bayer’s performance “jaw on the floor” hilarious. Robinson is making her feature film debut. Robinson is a gifted comedian and writer gained attention with a bestselling book You Can’t Touch My Hair (And Other Things I Still Have to Explain) and broke out when HBO picked up her Two Dope Queens podcast as a limited series.

Vanessa Bayer agreed with Jacobs, calling Robinson one of the funniest people she’s ever met in her life. On the red carpet, Bayer said the two bonded while filming the movie over being late for things, and being relatively unprofessional. She said while filming, one of her favorite moments was a highly improvised scene that takes place while waiting for a cab in Ibiza. “We were sitting by a little lake and it was so cold and we were freezing,” she said, “and Alex had us improvise but because we were so cold we had no filters.”

Robinson says she and Bayer also grew close because they both are from Cleveland, and wherever they went they were looking for Shopping Malls. “Gillian wanted to explore museums, and botanical gardens,” she said. “We were like, where is the Zara?”

Amy Schumer also showed up to support her friend and Trainwreck co-star Vanessa Bayer.

The comedians weren’t the only thing funny in the movie, at least according to co-star Richard Madden, who praised Jacobs comedic abilities. “I learned a lot from her about comedy,” he said.
