Netflix has released the first images from its new comedy series, “Grace and Frankie” starring an Academy Award actor and a legendary comedian. Reunited “Nine to Five” co-stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are the title characters in the new streaming sitcom about two women who have their worlds unexpectedly turned upside down late in life.

What’s happened to “Grace and Frankie”? Both their husbands have revealed they’re gay and are leaving their wives for each other. Neither Grace or Frankie saw that coming. The women then form a bond that probably no two other women share. In the series, family is redefined through friendship, laughs and mood enhancing drugs. Yay pharmaceuticals!

“Grace and Frankie” comes from a strong sitcom pedigree being executive produced by Marta Kauffman (Friends) and Howard J. Morris (Home Improvement). It co-stars Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston, with Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, Baron Vaughn and June Diane Raphael.

The new comedy “Grace and Frankie” starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin premieres with 12 episodes on Friday, May 8th on Netflix.
