HBO Renews, Then Cancels New Comedy
HBO gave the go ahead for Season Two of The Brink back in July but the trades are now reporting that the series has been axed.
HBO released a statement. “After evaluating our schedule and our programming needs, we unfortunately decided we cannot give The Brink the attention it deserves for a second season. We are proud of the first season and wish everyone involved in this show the very best.”
The series which starred Jack Black, Tim Robbins, and Aasif Mandvi was released paired with the entourage-esque series Ballers, which will be back for a second season. HBO may be making room for new comedy series, like Vice Principals, starring Danny McBride, or new comedies coming in 2016, Divorce, High Maintenance, Animals, Brothers in Atlanta and Insecure.
