Variety is reporting that comedian and actor Hannibal Buress has been recruited for the upcoming film Spider-Man: Homecoming. The film, which begins shooting this summer, already has a robust roster so far. Last week, it was announced that fellow comedian and rapper Donald Glover had been brought on board, joining Tom Holland (as Peter Parker,) Marisa Tomei (as Aunt May,) Logan Marshall-Green, Tony Revolori and Zendaya on the cast.

The growing cast is about all that’s known of the film so far, as Marvel and Sony have been tight-lipped about the plot and the roles that each actor will be taking up.

The film is being directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car) with Sony’s Amy Pascal and Marvel’s Kevin Feige producing. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, the writing duo behind Vacation, wrote the film’s script.

Buress is having a busy 2016: On top of his new Spider-Man role, he also has parts in the animated feature The Secret Life of Pets, the fictional comedy The Comedian, and the upcoming James Franco film The Masterpiece.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set for release on July 7th, 2017. More details about who will be playing what role are sure to come as production gets rolling this summer, so stay tuned to the IBang for more!
