Gregg Allman, Out of the Hospital and Ready to Resume Book Tour

Gregg Allman feels like a million and change, and he’s ready to go back on tour.

After many years of keeping most of his stories to himself, Gregg Allman released “My Cross to Bear” a memoir making many of those stories public for the first time. His plans included a book tour, going on the road to play and a live event with SiriusXM.

Recently, a trip back to the hospital put all those plans on hold, however, and Allman had to cancel dates from his book tour as well as the Town Hall live event.  But today Gregg called up Ron Bennington at SiriusXM so he could let everyone know that he’s out of the hospital, recovering and planning to resume the book tour as soon as possible.

“I finally got that big lump I had on my belly– my hernia is gone,” Allman said, “and I had this bout with atrial  fibrillation, …..and they put a stent in it going into one of my big arteries, cause sure enough there was a certain amount of blockage, and man, I feel like a million and change.”

“It was something that could not be helped.” he continued, “And you know I wanted to make this book tour, and I am picking it up from where it left off.”

The book covers four decades worth of incredible stories, that started off as a personal journal for Allman.  “For a long time I just called it a journal and it got bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger.  And so after I met Michael Lehman my manager, he said man, your fans need to…you ever think about making a book out of this?  And of course we had to edit the hell out of it.”

If all goes well, Allman hasn’t ruled out going back on the road this summer and rescheduling the Town Hall event.
