To try to increase participation, the Grammy Awards are going to get rid of paper ballots and allow voters to cast their choices online. The Academy believes “it will present a more flexible voting option or appeal to artists who may be on the road during the period for voting.” In addition, there will be new review committees for the rap, contemporary instrumental, and New Age categories. It starts with online voting and now it’s just a matter of time until everyone goes home with Surfboard and Moonman trophies.
