Che, Morgan, Jones, Oliver and More Walk Red Carpet For Garden of Laughs Fundraiser

Tuesday night, MSG held its bi-annual Garden of Laughs fundraising event, and as always, the event brought out huge stars.  The Garden of Laughs is a charity that helps children overcome different kinds of obstacles in their lives and is produced by Rory Rosegarten who you know manages Brian Regan, Robert Klein and Ray Romano to name a few. Our own Jeffrey Gurian covered the event with the best spot on the red carpet and you will be able to see all the video coverage on his Comedy Matters TV channel on YouTube.

John Oliver was charming on the carpet, joking that his accent might lead to deportation for him, Tracy Morgan walked the carpet wearing a white motorcycle jacket, along with his wife, Megan.  Susan Sarandon talked about loving bringing Ping-Pong all over the world, and growing up with eight siblings. And there was a big commotion as Leslie Jones, Michael Che and Bob Saget made their way down the carpet together. Michael Che also wore leather, with a bright red hoodie, and Leslie Jones was excited to be there. And Bob Saget is working on a new special, and has been staying on stage for almost two hours at a time.

He also spoke with the event’s host, Steve Schirripa, and The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus who told Jeffrey he wanted to be on the show so badly that they created a role for him. Spike Lee did the carpet, as did Walt Frazier, and sportscaster Jill Martin and Gerry Cooney.  And Sebastian Maniscalco, Chris Rock, and Steve Buscemi were also on the carpet.

All of this and more will be covered in Jeffrey’s regular column this week, and you can visit Comedy Matters to see the video interviews.
