Exclusive: Watch the Animated Clip for “Taco Nazi” From Charlie Demers’ Album, Fatherland

Acclaimed Vancouver playwright, published author, radio personality and comedian Charlie Demers, released his debut Juno-nominated album, Fatherland, in 2017. The album is all about fatherhood, fascism, and Nazis. Well, 2/3 of the album is about fatherhood. “The album is two-thirds jokes about raising a daughter, and one-third jokes about Nazis, so I thought Fatherland was the best title to capture both of those elements!” says Demers in describing the content of his album. “There is even a joke about Nazi babies so there is a bit of overlap there” continues Demers.

He got together with his record label, 604 records, and Atomic Cartoons to create this brand new animated track from the album, exclusively available for the first time today. “Taco Nazi” animates a story from the album about an encounter he had with a Swastika tattoo’ed man he met at a food truck plaza.

Charlie first connected with Atomic Cartoons through Netflix series Beat Bugs– he plays Walter Walrus on the Emmy Award-winning kids show, when he’s not busy performing on stage and recording albums.

Demers, who CBC radio calls “one of the smartest comics out there” is a regular on CBC’s The Debaters, provides the voice of Walter the Slug on the Emmy-winning Netflix animated series “Beat Bugs” based on the immortal music of The Beatles, and will be appearing during Just For Laughs Festival 2018 In Montreal.
