Elephants Performed For The Final Time With Ringling Brothers Circus

The Ringling Brothers Circus used elephants for the final time this weekend in performances in Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. Elephants have been used in the circus for over 200 years and about another dozen outfits still use them. Does this mean at the end of the performance, the elephants were simply let out into the wilds of Rhode Island and Pennsylvania, never to be heard from again?
