Doug Stanhope Will Guest on Headliners with Ron Bennington This Week!

Comedian Doug Stanhope will be back at SiriusXM this week to appear with host Ron Bennington on their newest interview series, Headliners.  Similar to Bennington’s Unmasked series, Headliners welcomes a guest to sit down for an hour conversation in front of a live studio audience. Stanhope sat down with Bennington for Unmasked in 2016 to talk about his first book, Digging Up Mother, a Love Story and delivered a fascinating hour.  You won’t want to miss Doug returning to talk about his new book, This is Not Fame: From What I Re-memoir, which won our 2017 Award for Best Book Authored by a Comedian.

The book, available now, is everything you love about Stanhope- unapologetic, ruthlessly honest, uncomfortable, disturbing, obscene- and full of stories about life on the dirty side of being a road comic.  Stanhope doesn’t sugarcoat his life, or conceal the unattractive parts- on the contrary, he revels in the things others hide. Expect him to go in-depth with Bennington behind some of the stories in the book.  With chapter headings like “Fucking the Waitstaff”, “The Grass is Always Browner”, “Sucking Abroad” and “Florida Sex Offenders” you know this will be an hour you will want to be in the room for. But beyond the kinds of stories that you love to hear, Doug is also incredibly candid about what his behaviors have cost him in terms of fame, career goals, and his personal life. The book is a page-turner in every sense.

Before becoming a two time winner of our best author award, Doug hosted the Man Show on Comedy Central for two seasons, has released four CDs and three DVDs including “No Refunds” on Showtime in 2008, and has a long list of tv appearance credits, but he’s best known for his live performances, his podcast which airs on the All Things Comedy network, and of course, his Celebrity Death Pool.

Stanhope fans and curious onlookers can request free tickets to be in the studio audience for this amazing event, which will take place at SiriusXM in their famed fishbowl studio.  Come hear Doug talk about his uniquely dark (and yes sometimes uncomfortable) sensibility, comedy and career with Ron Bennington on January 30th at 12:30 pm. If you would like to join Ron and Doug, you can request tickets using the Unmasked Twitter account. Please be sure you can make it if you request tickets, as there are only a few limited seats available:
