Doug Benson’s “The High Court” in Session Starting This Month

Back in October, Comedy Central announced that they were teaming up with comedian Doug Benson for a new show called The High Court. Part courtroom reality show, part Getting Doug with High, details about the show were slim at the time. Now however, Comedy Central has let slip some more details now that the show’s premiere is upon us.

The concept behind The High Court is simple: Notorious stoner Doug Benson, as “Judge Doug,” will preside over a courtroom as real plaintiffs and defendants plead their cases to him. These parties have agreed to dismiss their court cases in order to have their disputes settled by the honorable Judge Benson. Benson will be accompanied by a new guest bailiff each episode; after Benson hears both sides of each case, he and the bailiff will retire to his chambers where they will smoke a bunch of weed and deliberate on who will win the case.

So far, Benson’s list of guest bailiffs includes Joey “CoCo” Diaz, Todd Glass, Tiffany Haddish, Michael Ian Black, Reggie Watts, Geoff Tate, Beth Stelling, Rory Scovel and many more. The debut episode, called “Someone is Paying for This Tow Job,” will feature Tiffany Haddish as Benson’s first guest.

The show’s been given a 20-episode order, with each episode coming in at just 15 minutes. The show will premiere over at Comedy Central on Monday, February 27th at 12 a.m. It will be broadcast at midnight Monday through Thursday, with Fridays featuring back-to-back episodes from midnight to 12:30 a.m. Comedy Central will be using the show to generate content for their social media accounts, from Facebook to Snapchat, so be sure to keep an eye out for that as well.
