Deon Cole’s First Hour Special Coming to Comedy Central

Comedy Central announced today that comedian Deon Cole has filmed a one hour special, called Deon Cole: Cole Blooded, for the network that will air on June 25th. Cole is a two-time Emmy nominated writer for his work on Conan, where he also acts as a guest correspondent. He currently plays Anthony Anderson’s friend and co-worker Charlie on ABC’s Black-ish, as well as DJ Tanner on the TBS show Angie Tribeca, starring Rashida Jones. In addition to his television roles, Cole also recently took to the big screen with his part in Barbershop: The Next Cut.

Filmed at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, D.C., Cole’s special will cover a variety of topics; From dating advice for women, dealing with smartphones, and managing blackness according to the situation, no topic is safe from Cole’s trademark biting wit. As the special’s premiere approaches, Comedy Central will be releasing sneak peeks of clips from the special across their platforms, including their website (both on the stand-up page and Cole’s dedicated page,) the Comedy Central app, and on their Snapchat Discover channel.

Cole has finely honed his stand-up skills over the course of a 20+ year career that has featured performances on Kevin Hart’s Hart-Beat Tour, John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show, Def Comedy Jam, Laffapalooza, and Showtime’s Shaq’s All-Star Comedy Jam. This will be the comic’s first one-hour special in that time, so you know he’s looking to make his mark with this one.
