Dave Chappelle Covers Radiohead’s ‘Creep’
There’s a headline that you’re probably as surprised to read as I am to write. Dave Chappelle was filmed doing a very Dave Chappelle-esque cover of Radiohead’s Creep at friend and musician Erykah Badu’s 45th birthday party. The clip is incomplete, but it gives a good idea of the environment at the sure-to-be-awesome party, as (possibly drunk) friends danced around Chappelle and joined in with him during the song’s chorus.
Chappelle is a comedy legend, but known for his singing voice he is not. That didn’t stop him from taking the lead during the karaoke rendition, either at Badu’s party or at a strip club in Portland a few months ago, when the comic allegedly belted out a performance of The Police’s Roxanne and Killing Me Softly by Roberta Flack as well.
My only regret in life is that I will (likely) never see Dave Chappelle do Radiohead covers in person. Oh, to be one of the rich and powerful.
