Danny McBride may be better known as Kenny Powers or now, Vice-Principal Neal Gamby on HBO, than he is for his impersonation skills. But he brought his best (?) Kenny G impression to the Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday night.

McBride and Corden reenacted a duet performance from the 1990 Grammy Awards featuring best selling, award winning artists, saxophonist Kenny G and singer Michael Bolton. If the original 1990 duet was a battle of the insane hairstyles, the Late Late Show tribute was right on par with the original.  It featured James Corden sporting Bolton’s trademark mullet and Danny McBride going for Kenny G’s out of control curls, but looking more like he had shopped at a Reggie Watts wig store. The two performed Michael Bolton’s super hit “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” with Corden handling vocals and McBride on sax. Their performance was edited with Grammy audience reaction shots from the day featuring Liza, Willie and Michael, mostly artists that we would know by one name. The best part of the bit for Danny McBride was that no actual talent was needed in impersonating Kenny G. He wasn’t expected to play very well and he delivered.

There’s two new episodes of Season 1 of “Vice Principals” starring Danny McBride, left including the season finale airing Sunday, September 18th at 10:30pm on HBO.
