Johnny Depp is terrifying and almost unrecognizable in the new trailer for “Black Mass”. The film tells the story of convicted gangster James Joseph “Whitey” Bulger. Depp stars as Bulger who turned informant and was able to corrupt his FBI contact and use the bureau’s help to advance his own power. His federal handler tipped him off to an impending indictment in 1994 which sent Whitey Bulger on the run for 16 years before he was finally caught, tried and convicted on multiple charges including murder. “Black Mass” co-stars Kevin Bacon, Benedict Cumerbatch, Joel Edgerton, Peter Sarsgaard, Dakota Johnson, Jesse Plemons, Adam Scott and Sienna Miller. It opens nationwide on Friday, September 18th.
