Comedy Central’s @Midnight Gets Third Season

midnight renewed

Comedy Central’s popular late-night show @Midnight with host Chris Hardwick has been renewed for a third season.  Hardwick and the hashtag wars will be on Comedy Central’s late-night lineup through at least 2016.

“Creating a new franchise in late night is no small feat, and we couldn’t be more proud of Chris and the entire team for what they’ve accomplished,” said Kent Alterman, president of content development and original programming for Comedy Central.

@Midnight makes more use of social media than perhaps any other late-night show for its actual show content.  Likely for this reason, the show has the youngest audience of any late-night program.  The show’s “Hashtag Wars,” where fans tweet puns and jokes on a specified hashtag from an episode, are extremely popular.  The best tweets fans submit from “Hashtag Wars” end up on the broadcast.  The late-night series also uses a changing panel of comedians in a faux-game show construction.

Catch new episodes of @Midnight on Comedy Central, Monday through Thursday, at, well, you can guess what time.
