Comedian Kurt Braunohler Will Jet Ski From Chicago to New Orleans on New Comedy Central Series, “Roustabout”

Comedy Central will document Kurt Braunohler’s quest in the new series “Roustabout,” this July. The new six episode series follows Braunholer taking on the great Mississippi river on a Jet Ski for Charity. For seven days, Kurt will travel down the infamous river, from Chicago to New Orleans, coming ashore to do stand up sets along the way. The trip begins May 29 with a Chicago stand up show starring Braunohler, who will also be joined by Wyatt Cenac. Then Kurt launches from Navy Pier May 30th. St. Louis, Kaskasia Il, and New Orleans are some of the stops along the way. In addition to having Cenac join him at the Chicago show, Kyle Kinane, Jon Daly and Kristen Schaal are all on board– not on board the Jet Ski– but they will be showing up somewhere along the way.

Through Braunohler’s seven city mission from Chicago to New Orleans he plans to raise $50,000 to send 500 goats and 1000 chickens to improvished areas in Africa. That’s no joke. They’re working with Heifer International, an organization that helps families turn hunger and poverty into hope and prosperity to bring sustainable agriculture and commerce to areas with a long history of poverty. Their animals provide partners with both food and reliable income, as agricultural products such as milk, eggs and honey can be traded or sold at market.

All money in excess of $50,000 will go to a TBD charity to help clean up the Mississippi River.
