Colin Quinn Tweets He Had a Heart Attack on Valentines Day

If you thought your Valentine’s Day sucked, no matter how shitty your story is about eating alone at a diner, here’s someone who had a worse February 14th. One of New York’s most beloved homegrown comedians, Colin Quinn, tweeted on Wednesday that he suffered a heart attack on Valentine’s Day. No details but Colin is retweeting well wishes, and has definitely not lost his trademark Twitter voice that we all love so much. Not many people tweet out their own heart attack, but then again not many people are Colin Quinn.

Quinn is one of the most prolific, most interesting and funniest comedians performing today. He’s released two brilliant books, a string of outstanding one-man shows and he’s as smart as he is funny. His take on the world, the country, and his beloved New York City will always bring crowds out to the clubs and theaters he performs in and for those of us too cheap or too far away from those venues, we’ve got his twitter. Tough Crowd, Long Story Short, Unconstitutional, and The New York Story plus a slew of tv and movie roles. He’s a goddamn national treasure.

NPR Producer Melissa Ross tweeted that Quinn is postponing his planned Ponte Vedra shows, and wrote that he is okay and getting treatment.

Comedians, friends including Jim Norton and Esther Ku and hundreds of fans, tweeted out well wishes for Quinn, while watching him be extremely funny on tonight’s episode of Match Game. Anyone with an extra heart they aren’t using, please forward to @iamcolinquinn along with love and well wishes for a fast and full recovery.
