Colin Mochrie Will Receive First Ever John Candy Award at Crackup Comedy Gala Tonight
Colin Mochrie from Whose Line is it Anyway? fame is receiving the inaugural John Candy Award tonight- on Thursday, March 22nd. Andrea Martin, of SCTV fame will receive the female comedy award during the ceremony.
Presented by Alterna Savings, the CrackUp Corporate Gala in Ottawa will feature the first ever “Candy” awards during a Gala hosted by John Candy’s children, Jen and Chris. Crackup is a Canadian not-for-profit run by volunteers designed to support mental health organization across Canada’s capital region. Proceeds from the evening will go to CHEO to support their 1door4care project in support of youth mental health.
Alterna Savings Crackup has been presenting comedy for a cause shows for the past 14 years in Ottawa. Formerly named, Cracking-up the Capital, it began as a one night comedy show and has grown into a winter festival.
