The newest fad amongst Chinese adults comes in the form of fruit, flowers, and vegetables. Grown-ups are rocking plastic, erect veggies that sprout from their heads and no one can figure out why or how it started. During the National Day holiday week when Beijing filled with tourists the trend exploded and now every adult seems to be sporting a sprout or leaf on their head. One person said that “Some people think it’s cute, some think it’s just plain infantile”. We can all agree that it’s somewhere in between.
