Check Our Feed: What The Comedy World is Saying About America’s Deadliest Shooting
This morning America woke up to news that over 500 people in Vegas were victims of the deadliest shooting in the history of the United States. At least 48 are dead so far, with hundreds more injured. Our feed quickly emptied of plugs, and lighthearted jokes, and instead filled up with comedians venting anger, fear, sadness and rage at the state of gun violence in America. Sharing some of them here.
The feeling is overwhelmingly anti-gun and you’ll also see a thread of tweets angry that we don’t refer to white people as terrorists. The other overwhelming message is a plea to donate blood today.
I still can't breath normally. Been looking at my screen for an hour wondering what to say. #LasVegasShooting

He’s just a terrorist. A DOMESTIC TERRORIST. No ISIS, no conversion – STEPHEN PADDOCK IS SIMPLY A TERRORIST. GUN CONTROL NOW

Feels like they're in a permanent state of half-staff because of all the mass shootings. Maybe flying them upside down would be more apt? https://t.co/HVeRNTHt6c

It feels like the world is coming to an end. My only regret is not hating @piersmorgan enough.
— Andy Kindler (@AndyKindler) October 2, 2017
A crazy person slaughters a bunch of innocent people so crazy people can fantasize about stopping him. It's an American tradition
— yannispappas (@yannispappas) October 2, 2017
.@SenateDems feel free to politicize #LasVegas immediately and call for any kind of fucking gun control, right now.
— Laurie Kilmartin (@anylaurie16) October 2, 2017
If you're a comedian in Vegas please hit me up. I want to know that you're okay. The road can be lonely and today is exceptionally sad.
— Jeff Ross (@realjeffreyross) October 2, 2017
Oh, guns. Imagine if scrapbooking killed thousands of people a year, and the people who loved it constantly screamed at you to deal with it.

Come on Donald! When do we get our crazy lone wolf white guy travel ban?! #prayforvegas #terrorism

I knew there would be some really stupid people saying this was a hoax. I just thought it would take a couple days. https://t.co/rVcy0zJfex
— Joe Rogan (@joerogan) October 2, 2017
To my fans and friends in Las Vegas please go donate blood if you can. This senseless violence has taxed available blood supply. Thanks ?
— Bill Engvall (@billengvall) October 2, 2017
why are people fighting to keep guns. why.

— Dave Hill (@mrdavehill) October 2, 2017
Maybe mass shootings get politicized because politicians are the only ones who can do something…
— Megan Gailey (@megangailey) October 2, 2017
Sure it does – it lets people off the hook for being accessories to murder. https://t.co/8n1tlHQ5xU
— Michael Ian Black (@michaelianblack) October 2, 2017
Sorry if this isn't "upbeat" but things don't seem to be going well.
— Andy Kindler (@AndyKindler) October 2, 2017
We want to take some of your guns away because some of you keep giving your bullets away. #GunControl
— Hari Kondabolu (@harikondabolu) October 2, 2017
What happens in Vegas, will be politicized then ignored. Our country is sick. Our politicians are inept.

If there's another massacre, do we take the flag all the way off the pole, Don?

If only someone in the crowd was a trained sniper and had his rifle at the concert, he could have run off, set up and saved 1 or 2 lives.

This domestic Terrorist is who you should be calling a "son of a bitch"…but let's start by calling him a domestic terrorist 1st.

This is not a unifying moment for America. You can't unite me with creeps who choose to live their lives based on guns, guns and more guns.

Does it bother y'all the past two years have seen the deadliest mass shootings in history? Enough to vote out reps backed by the gun lobby?

I am saddest first for the victims in LV & their families. My 2nd sadness is that there is no promise we can make them that isn't now false.
