Che and Jost Get a Promotion

Michael Che and Colin Jost got a promote. The two will serve as head writers of Saturday Night Live along with Kent Sublette and Bryan Tucker who were already serving as head writers. Earlier this year, the writing team of Chris Kelly and Sarah Schneider left their positions as head writers for the legendary comedy series leaving room for the promotion. Schneider and Kelly left after their half hour scripted series, The Other Two got picked up at Comedy Central. That series will be executive produced by Lorne Michaels, and will star Drew Tarver and Helene Yorke, and will feature Molly Shannon, and Ken Marino.

Che joined Jost on sNL as a co-anchors in 2014, after leaving a short stint on The Daily Show. Jost has served as a writer for the series since 2005. Both Tina Fey and Seth Meyers served as head writers while they were serving as Weekend Update anchors.

Congratulations to Che and Jost on the new position.
