Bridget Everett Set To Star With Molly Shannon In ‘Fun Mom Dinner’

Moontower Preview: Bridget Everett Going 100 mph and Crushing It
Variety is reporting that Molly Shannon, Toni Collete, Bridget Everett and Katie Aselton have all been recruited for an upcoming film called Fun Mom Dinner. The film will be directed by freshman filmmaker Alethea Jones, based on a script from Julie Yaeger Rudd (Paul Rudd’s wife.) It will be produced by June Pictures and Gettin’ Rad Productions, the production company of Naomi Scott and husband Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation.) Adam Scott and Paul Rudd (Ant-Man, This is 40) will be executive producing.

The film, which was conceived through conversations between Naomi Scott and Julie Yaeger Rudd, centers on four mothers who all have kids in the same pre-school. They get together for a “fun mom dinner” that ends up going haywire, forcing the women to work together and realize that they’ve got much more in common than they realize.

“We’re really pleased that this has become such a female-driven project,” Naomi Scott said to Variety. “It really is a love letter to moms. A lot of the story is based on our common experiences. Julie’s script is hysterically funny.”

Adam Scott, Adam Levine, Rob Huebel and Paul Rust have also joined the cast. The film apparently began shooting in Los Angeles yesterday, though no release date has been announced yet.

Gettin’ Rad, the production company run by Adam and Naomi Scott, recently showed their film Other People, starring Molly Shannon and Jesse Plemons, at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. At the previous year’s festival, they presented their debut film, The Overnight, starring Jason Schwartzman, Adam Scott and Taylor Schilling.
