Boston Calling Music Fest Expands Comedy Experience with Hannibal Buress, Pete Holmes, Tig Notaro and More

Already positioning itself as one of the most in-demand festivals in the Northeast, the Boston Calling Music Festival continues its breakneck pace of growth with today’s announcement of its expanded comedy lineup. After 2016’s comedy stage (hosted by Lamont Price and featuring primarily local acts) was greeted with excitement, 2017’s comedy offerings have been upgraded to their own venue in the festival’s new home- Allston’s Harvard Athletic Complex. Boston Calling’s Comedy Experience will be hosted by Broad City and The Eric Andre Show’s Hannibal Buress and feature Pete Holmes, Tig Notaro, Eugene Mirman, and others. Price returns to the lineup on the Friday, with other local talent (Kelly MacFarland, Nick Chambers, Bethany Van Delft) featured over the course of the weekend. Nationally touring comedians Jordan Rock and Kate Berlant & John Early, round out the thirteen performer slate.

The Comedy Experience, to be held inside the complex’s adjacent Bright-Landry Hockey Center, replaces a previously announced film festival experience curated by Natalie Portman. But this powerful lineup hardly feels like a replacement, with the star power to match already-named music headliners like Solange, Chance the Rapper, Tool, Weezer, Sigur Rós, Mumford & Sons, and many more.

The comedy lineup is listed below, and is subject to change.
