Pre Order Bonnie McFarlane and Rich Vos Doc “Women Aren’t Funny”

bonnie mcfarlane's women aren't funnyThe comedy documentary “Women Aren’t Funny” from Bonnie McFarlane and Rich Vos is now available for pre-order on iTunes.

“Women Aren’t Funny”, directed by McFarlane and Vos, is a look at the criticism that there’s no place in stand up comedy for women. Bonnie goes on a hilarious investigation into the accusation to find its origins and to see if it has any validity. The documentary that states in its title that women aren’t funny has plenty of funny women in it. Throughout the film, Bonnie talks to some of the best names in comedy, female or male. Joan Rivers, Sarah Silverman, Chelsea Peretti, Rosie O’Donnell, Susie Essman, Judy Gold, Joy Behar, Lisa Lampanelli, Amy Schumer, Maria Bamford and Wanda Sykes all appear, talking about some of the sexism, barriers and double standards they’ve faced while working in comedy.

The men’s point of view isn’t excluded either. Male comedians giving their opinion include Artie Lange, Tom Arnold, Robert Kelly, Chris Rock, Jim Norton, Dane Cook, Colin Quinn, the late Patrice O’Neal and Adam Carolla, whose viewpoint of females being the less funny sex is well known.

Rich Vos and Bonnie McFarlane both appear with their daughter while the film looks at the home and family life of a working woman comic. The relationship comes into play during “Women Aren’t Funny” after Bonnie attempts to perform stand up disguised as a man. You can hear more of the dynamic of the Vos – McFarlane marriage on their “My Wife Hates Me” podcast on RiotCast.com.

Pre-order “Women Aren’t Funny” at the iTunes store at Apple.com. It’s available Tuesday, August 26th.
