UPDATE:  The Chicago Sun Times is reporting that Howard Morgan has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for attempted murder.  Thursday’s hearing drew an overflow crowd of protesters and Chicago Police, and court officials took the unusual step of opening side doors at the courtroom to allow more spectators to hear the proceedings.  Morgan’s family is pursuing a civil suit in federal court against the police officers.
