Binge Watch Through Labor Day With Some Comedy Marathons

If you plan on doing nothing through the Labor Day weekend, then do nothing while laughing. The Simpsons 12 day marathon is going into its last days and is heading to its conclusion on FXX on Monday at midnight. Here’s some other TV comedy marathons happening this weekend to fill your extra holiday time.

jonathanwintersmorkandmindyMork and Mindy: Select CBS stations across the country will be doing a marathon of America’s most beloved alien, Mork from Ork. Sorry, Ray Walston from “My Favorite Martian” and cast of “3rd Rock From The Sun”. CBS affiliates in New York, L.A., Boston, Sacramento and San Francisco will all be running marathons of Mork and Mindy starring Robin Williams, Pam Dawber and Jonathan Winters. It’s an all day look at Robin’s amazing television improv work.

Sunday on KBCW 44 Cable 12 in San Francisco – 12 pm to 8 pm

Sunday on KMAX 31 in Sacramento – 11 am to 7 pm

Sunday on KCAL 9 in Los Angeles – 1 pm to 8 pm

Monday on TV38 in Boston – 9 am to 2 pm

Monday on WLNY 10/55 in New York City – 9 am to 8 pm

It’s 12 hours of SNL on TV Land. The marathon will feature more recent episodes and specials from host including Justin Timberlake, Tina Fey, Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Aniston, Jerry Seinfeld and Betty White. Enjoy some “Dick in a Box” and Sarah Palin impressions, plus SNL “Best Ofs” with Jimmy Fallon, Amy Poehler and Alec Baldwin.

This is back-to-back episodes of Portlandia from it’s first and second seasons. The IFC marathon of episodes include Portlandia guest stars Jason Sudeikis, Steve Buscemi, Aimee Mann, Andy Samberg and more. See the original “Is It Local?” sketch, why it’s bad to ask to use the bathroom at a feminist bookstore and visit the Artisan Knot Shop with Jeff Goldblum.

 

will graceWill & Grace: WeTV – Saturday 2 pm et to 7 pm et

Spend Saturday with the 16 Emmy Award winning “Will & Grace” starring Eric McCormack and Debra Messing and mostly starring Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes. It’s the show that Vice-President Joe Biden gives a lot of credit to, saying – Will & Grace “probably did more to educate the American public on LGBT issues more than almost anything anybody has ever done so far.”

The domestic goddess is back for a Sunday marathon on WeTV. It’s the brilliantly funny series from Roseanne Barr that changed the way America looked at the sitcom family. The Connors weren’t perfect and far from it. “Roseanne” co-stars John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sarah Gilbert, Estelle Parsons, Martin Mull and Sandra Bernhard. Plus, you get to see Becky on the show change and then change back again.

It’s the CBS show that made Melissa McCarthy a break out star. FX is doing a 9 hour marathon of Mike & Molly episodes to get ready for reruns of the series coming the network. Mike & Molly join the regular FX schedule on September 23rd. Melissa McCarthy may be better known for her movies “Bridesmaids” and “Tammy” and her SNL appearances. Here’s a chance to catch up on her television work.

A television staple since 1962, the Beverly Hillbillies are returning to TV Land reruns starting with a Labor Day marathon. The show ran for 9 seasons in the 60s and 70s with 8 of those ranking as a top 20 series. Starring Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas, and Max Baer, Jr., it’s a TV classic that still airs around the world.
