Even though he’s not involved with the idea at all, Bill Murray offered his thoughts on which funny women should be cast in an all women remake of “Ghostbusters”.

Nothing has been set in stone for rebooting the franchise with an all female paranormal comedy team. Although, it is being discussed. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) has expressed a strong desire to direct the film.

Asked about the rumor and which women should be cast, Bill Murray gave his suggestions. According to The Star in Toronto, Bill said – “Melissa (McCarthy) would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny — God, she’s funny! I like this girl Linda Cardellini (Mad Men) a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”

Melissa McCarthy was asked about being in the third “Ghostbusters” film. Based on Bill’s opinion and Paul Feig’s interest, Melissa said – “I think that somebody is really trying to do it, but nobody has talked to me about it. Listen, if the people I think are doing it are doing it, I must never question them.”

Bill was in Canada for the Toronto Film Festival where Bill Murray Day was celebrated with the premiere of his new film “St. Vincent” and screenings of his classic comedies including “Ghostbusters”.
